"New Years Day 2019 (Written Slightly Before That)"

It like the county developed a kidney stone and it's going to take two more years for it to pass.

Nobody looks to me for optimism.

Still...

I'm in Hawaii.

The papaya is delicious.

The ocean is sparkly.

I am surrounded by family.

And I recently tasted a "Moscow Mule" (vodka, ginger and likikoi) for the first time.

And really, really liked it.

Little moments.

That's what I cling to.

Fragments of happiness.

Hoping they'll get me through.

Wishing you precious moments of your own.

Till we come out the other side.

Happy New Year, and many more.

Hopefully in cheerier times.
