"My Yiddishe..."

My mother left us, aged 94.

Due to the appropriate Jewish grieving process, plus my usual technical ineptitude, I will not be available at this location until next week.

My mother once asked how long it took us to fly to Hawaii.

"It's about the same as flying to Toronto," I replied.

"Yeah," she came back wistfully, "but when you land, it's Hawaii."

The woman made me. And she made me laugh.

  6. I just wanted to add my sincere condolences as well. Just judging based on your TV work I've seen and your blogging, coupled with the fact that she in effect produced you, and then your wonderful little relevant story above, I have no doubt she was a magnificent lady. And no matter the age, enduring such a loss is never something you can be quite completely prepared for imo.

My sympathies to you and the rest of your family...

  15. Sorry for your loss, Ken.

I think she did a fine job of that "making" thing. It's obvious she had humor in those genes.
