The thing about compiling my all-time favorite comedy movies
is that when I consider a list, I can rarely come up with many.
Of course, there’s The
Court Jester, which I love best of all.
Once, a propos of
nothing I remember, I blurted,
“I have an adult’s love of language, and a child’s love of
adventure.
That’s The Court
Jester, on both counts.
So there’s that one.
But then, it’s like, “That’s it?”
Of course, that’s not it.
The following collection of “Top Choice” movie comedies was
compiled over some days. It took that
long because I kept believing I‘d run out.
And then, I thought,
“Oh, yeah, and…”
And I thought of a new one.
We are talking about whole comedy movies, parts of comedy
movies, comedies of various genres,
from silly to satirical to sophisticated… no, I just threw that in so I would
have a third “S.” There will be no Philadelphia Story’s on this list.
There will be no drinking from conical stemware.
So here we go – a list of movies that have made me laugh
hard, my search rekindled each time by “Oh yeah, and…” because I always thought
I was finished.
There’s
The Court Jester
Oh yeah, and
Dr. Strangelove
Oh yeah, and
